The Queen celebrates two birthdays a year – her actual birthday on the 22nd of April, and her ‘official’ birthday on the 8th of June. The Queen’s birthday in April is usually celebrated privately, but on the 8th of June the Trooping the Colour parade takes place, moving from Buckingham Palace to The Mall and the Horseguards’ Parade, finishing with a public appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony.
